Bluefield Solar has acquired the development rights for its first standalone battery energy storage system (BESS).

The acquisition represents development rights, grid connection costs and the leasehold of land of the 20MW ready-to-build project for around £1.5 million from Shaw-Energi Ltd.

Based in Liverpool, construction of the project is expected to begin this year.
